    Welcome to the Monte Vista Speech and Debate Institute Website!

     NOTE: August Junior Camp is full and there is a waiting list.

    We're very excited that you are considering spending some of your summer with us at the Monte Vista Speech and Debate Institute. For the past 15 years, we have trained over a thousand students in the art of public speaking. Again this year, we will be offering two different camps on the Monte Vista high school campus. The first will be offered the last two weeks of July, and the second will be offered the first two weeks of August. Students entering 7th to 12th grade will be able to choose from a variety of speech and debate events including:

  • Public Speaking
  • Lincoln-Douglas Debate (LD)
  • Parliamentary Debate (Parli)
  • Humorous and Dramatic Interpretation
  • Prepared and Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Student Congress

    We are also offering a Junior Institute for students entering grades 4 through 6. We created this camp because of a growing popularity among parents to send younger kids to our camp. We felt that in order to better attend to the needs of younger students, we needed to create classes with a curriculum designed specifically for the junior age group.

    Registration for 2009 Camps!

    We are currently accepting applications. The registration deadline is June 1st. Some sessions may fill up before the deadline. After June 1 we will be accepting applications on a space available basis. (We will be updating this website regularly to show class availability.)

    Checks should be made payable to Monte Vista Speech & Debate

    All sections of the application need to be filled out.
    Make sure you circled camp desired, circled the class desired and marked the session (am, pm or both).

    When we receive your application we will send you a confirmation letter with more details about the camp.
