SPEECH OUTREACH FALL CLASS
 
The Speech Outreach Fall class meets on Tuesday afternoons at Monte Vista from 4:00 - 5:30 pm from October through November.  The class is open to all 7th and 8th graders.  The Fall class will focus on speech writing and presentation skills.  Students will learn the art of persuasive speaking through a variety of assignments both prepared and impromptu.  Special emphasis will be placed on use of language, voice, gesture, and organizational skills.  Students should report to the Monte Vista Student Commons at least 15 minutes early on the first day of the class.
 

SPEECH OUTREACH SPRING CLASS
 
The Speech Outreach Spring class meets on Tuesday afternoons at Monte Vista from 4:00 - 5:30 pm from February through the end of March.  The class is open to all 7th and 8th graders.  The Spring class will focus on debate emphasizing argumentation and persuasion skills.  Students will learn the art of argumentation through a variety of assignments both prepared and impromptu.  Special emphasis will be placed on use of logic, voice, gesture, and organizational skills.  Students should report to the Monte Vista Student Commons at least 15 minutes early on the first day of the class.
